Workshop: "IP and AI in Asia: law, economics, management and policy"
Update day: 30-03-2025On the afternoon of March 29, 2025, the University of Law, Hue University, held a workshop on "IP and AI in Asia: Law, Economics, Management and Policy" in the Smart Classroom, with the participation of over 60 students and lecturers from the university.
The workshop was honored to have the presence of: Prof. Kung-Chung LIU, Singapore Management University; Prof. LONG Xiaonin, Xiamen University, Malaysia; Prof. QIU Honghua, Northwest University, China; Prof. LIU Xin, Southwest Jiaotong University.
At the workshop, the Professors shared insights on critical topic such as: Law and Intellectual Property Regimes in major Asian economies; Economic analysis of injunctions based on FRAND principles; Technological innovation from a patent perspective: Practices from China; Mixed patent ownership and technology transfer at Chinese universities; China's law and policy on artificial intelligence governance.
The workshop provided an opportunity for students and lecturers to directly exchange ideas with the professors on legal, economic, and management issues related to intellectual property (IP) and artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of the Asian region. During the discussion session, the speakers answered questions from the university's students about emerging issues arising from the development of AI, especially those related to intellectual property rights for AI-generated products.
This significant event not only enriched the academic experience of students at the University of Law, Hue University, but also served as a platform for fostering academic collaboration. The workshop has opened promising avenues for future partnerships between the University and international training and research institutions specializing in intellectual property and artificial intelligence./.
