Training workshop: “Legal framework on wildlife protection”
Update day: 22-08-2022From August 22 to August 25, the Hue University of Law, in collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), organized a training course for resource trainers on "Legal framework on wildlife protection".
Attending the training program were delegates from several state organs and social organizations, such as: Mr. Vuong Tien Minh-Deputy Director, CITES Management Authority of Vietnam, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Tran Dinh Hai-Expert from the Supreme People's Procuracy; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thien Huong-Representative of GreenViet Biodiversity Conservation Center; Mr. Dang Van Kiem-Representative of Thua Thien Hue Forest Protection Department; Mr. Le Van Tu-Deputy Head of Bach Ma National Park Forest Protection Department; Mr. Pham Thanh Trung-WCS) and its members.
On behalf of the University of Law, Hue University presented Associate Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Rector of the University; Dr. Le Thi Nga, Dean of Administrative Law Faculty; Representatives of the University’s units leaders; lecturers from the National Academy of Public Administration and lecturers from Hue University of Law.
In the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Doan Duc Luong and Mr. Pham Thanh Tung said that to prevent wildlife trafficking and hunting, it is not only about improving the capacity of law enforcement agencies but also promoting prevention activities, in which an important factor is spreading awareness about wildlife protection within the community and society.
With the mission of spreading legal awareness and culture to society, in recent years, the University of Law, Hue University, and the Wildlife Conservation Society have worked very actively to establish bilateral relationships and cooperation, aiming to improve the effectiveness of law enforcement on wildlife protection.
The training program for trainers on "Legal framework on wildlife protection" is one of the activities in the series of cooperation programs between the University of Law, Hue University, and the WCS organization towards improving teaching methods and techniques to disseminate and propagate the law on wildlife protection (wildlife). Important subjects were focused on during the workshop, including: legal regulations related to wildlife; identifying violations of laws related to wildlife; basic knowledge related to wildlife species, including species identification skills; active teaching methods and techniques for adults.
