Representing Hue University at the conference were Prof. Dr. Trần Đăng Hoà, Chairman of the Hue University Council, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Duân, Secretary of the Hue University Council. From Hue University of Law, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoàn Đức Lương, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Duy Phương, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Sơn, Chairman of the University Council, along with members of the University Council for the 2020-2025 term, and heads and deputy heads of units and mass organizations.

The University Council for the 2020-2025 term consists of 15 members, including the Chairman and Secretary of the Council. Ex officio members include the Secretary of the Party Committee, the Rector, the Chairman of the Trade Union, and a representative from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Executive Committee, who is a student of the university. Additional members represent faculty, staff, and employees. External members, elected by the university’s general assembly, represent the broader community and include leaders, managers, educators, and cultural figures.

At the conference, Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Sơn, Chairman of the University Council of Hue University of Law, presented a comprehensive review of the council’s activities for the 2020-2025 term. Over the past term, the University Council worked closely with the Board of Rectors to guide strategic plans aligned with the university’s long-term objectives, yielding significant progress in various areas, including:

• The university met 100% of its enrollment targets, with a 100% enrollment rate.
• Significant achievements were made in scientific research and international cooperation.
• The university conducted self-assessments and successfully completed external evaluations for two undergraduate programs in Law and Economic Law.
• The institution completed its second-cycle accreditation and finalized self-assessments for two postgraduate programs—Master of Economic Law and Doctor of Economic Law—while continuing necessary bidding procedures for their external evaluation.

The university’s Law program was ranked in the 601+ category in Social Sciences, Business, and Economics by Times Higher Education.

The conference was conducted in a serious and focused manner, with active participation from council members. Discussions led to numerous recommendations and specific solutions aimed at fostering the university’s development. These new strategic directions will enable the university to maximize its potential, continuously enhance educational quality, strengthen scientific research and technology transfer, and contribute meaningfully to its overall growth.
