NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE WITH THE THEME "UN HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION PROGRAMME PHASE 5 (2025-2029)"
Update day: 07-10-2025On September 19, 2025, the University of Law, Hue University in collaboration with the Institute of Human Rights, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics organized a National Scientific Conference with the theme: "United Nations Human Rights Education Program Phase 5 (2025 - 2029)".
On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, there were Associate Professor, Dr. Tuong Duy Kien - Director of the Institute of Human Rights; Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Trung - Deputy Director of the Institute of Human Rights, along with teachers and students of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
On behalf of Hue University, there were Dr. Nguyen Chi Bao, Deputy Head of Science, Technology and International Cooperation Department, Hue University; Dr. Tran Nhat, Vice Principal of Nguyen Chi Thanh Political School.
On behalf of the University of Law, Hue University, there were Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Chairman of the University Council; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Vice Rector of the University; Heads and Deputy Heads of units and authors with articles attending the Conference.
The conference was chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Tuong Duy Kien, Director of the Institute of Human Rights; Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Trung – Deputy Director of the Institute of Human Rights; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Vice Rector of the University of Law, Hue University.
With the participation of more than 50 delegates who are scientists, lecturers, and research experts in the fields of law, politics, and human rights, the conference has become a prestigious academic forum for exchanging, discussing, and sharing new research.
From many submitted articles, the Organizing Committee selected 12 typical presentations to be presented directly, focusing on urgent issues of human rights education today such as: Orientation of human rights education in the new era of the Vietnamese nation; The United Nations' viewpoint on human rights education from the 2011 Declaration; Application of digital technology & the impact of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution on ensuring human rights; Access to human rights in environmental issues and climate change; Promoting the rights of youth with disabilities in the context of digital transformation; Ensuring children's privacy in the online environment; Integrating human rights and gender equality into the law training program.
Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Vice Rector, said that in the context of globalization, the 4.0 industrial revolution and the increase of many non-traditional challenges, phase 5 (2025-2029) of the Program is of particular importance. It not only requires continuing to improve the capacity to perceive and practice human rights, but also requires the connection between education - research - practice in solving issues of social justice, gender equality, protection of vulnerable groups, adaptation to climate change and digital transformation.
The workshop once again affirmed the role of the University of Law, Hue University in linking scientific research, training and practice, while contributing to consolidating the orientation of human rights education in the new period. This is also an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation, spread the humanistic spirit of human rights education to lecturers and students, thereby contributing to the cause of innovation in higher education and implementing Vietnam's international commitments in this field.
