MORE THAN 50 LAW INSTITUTIONS NATIONWIDE ATTEND THE 2026 ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE VIETNAM LAW SCHOOL
Update day: 20-03-2026On the afternoon of March 20, 2026, in Da Nang City, the Vietnam Law School Network, in collaboration with the University of Law, Hue University and Duy Tan University, organized the 2026 Annual Conference of the Vietnam Law School Network.
Attending the Conference was Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, former Director General of the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education and Training.
Representing the Executive Board of the Vietnam Law School Network were Associate Professor Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Rector of the University of Law, Hue University and Head of the Network’s Executive Board; Dr. Chu Manh Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hanoi Law University; Associate Professor Dr. Le Vu Nam, Vice Rector of the University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Vice Rector of the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Associate Professor Dr. Bui Anh Thuy, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Van Lang University; and Associate Professor Dr. Phan Trung Hien, Dean of the School of Law, Can Tho University.
Representing Duy Tan University were Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Rector of the School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Ho Minh Khanh, Dean of the Faculty of Law; M.A. Tran Quang Trung, Standing Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law; together with heads and deputy heads of offices and units of Duy Tan University.
The Conference was also attended by numerous scholars and administrators in the field of legal education, including Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Song, Rector of Mien Dong University of Technology; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung, Rector of Hanoi Open University; Dr. Hoang Xuan Chau, Vice Rector of Hanoi Law University; Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Long, Vice Rector of Nam Can Tho University; Dr. Le Anh Van, Vice Rector of Thai Binh Duong University; Dr. Hoang Anh Tuyen, Vice Rector of the Procuracy University; Dr. Bui Thi Ha, Deputy Director of the Judicial Academy; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, Deputy Director of the Border Guard Academy; M.A. Ha Thi Thanh Van, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Women’s Academy; Dr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Court Academy; along with leaders and lecturers from more than 50 law institutions nationwide. The Conference also attracted local press and media agencies in Da Nang City, which attended and reported on the event.
In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Head of the Executive Board of the Network and Rector of the University of Law, Hue University, emphasized the importance of linkages among law training institutions at a time when higher education is undergoing major changes. He noted that strengthening academic cooperation, sharing resources, and promoting scientific research would form an important foundation for improving the quality of legal education and meeting the country’s demands for integration and development in the new period.
As the host institution of the Conference, Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Rector of the School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences, Duy Tan University, affirmed the university’s proactiveness and sense of responsibility in accompanying the Vietnam Law School Network. Hosting the Conference not only helped strengthen connections among law training institutions but also created favorable conditions for promoting academic activities, professional exchange, and research cooperation in the coming time.
According to the report presented at the Conference, in 2025 the Vietnam Law School Network continued to expand and strengthen academic cooperation activities. The Network admitted three new members: Hoa Binh University, Thuy Loi University, and the Procuracy University.
Notably, scientific research and academic exchange activities were organized actively through many large-scale seminars and conferences. Typical examples included the annual scientific workshop “Organization and Operation of Local Government to Ensure Effectiveness and Efficiency in the New Period”, held at the University of Law, Hue University with 75 papers; the young scholars’ conference “Private Sector Development in Vietnam – Theoretical and Practical Issues”, held at Duy Tan University with 70 papers; the student scientific conference “Improving Vietnamese Law in the New Context” organized at three venues nationwide with more than 200 papers; and the national scientific workshop on legal mechanisms and policies to promote breakthroughs in higher education development in the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, with 64 scientific papers. The proceedings of these workshops and conferences were published by the Network’s Executive Board with ISBN numbers by reputable publishers.
In addition, member institutions within the Network also jointly organized many academic activities for law students on a nationwide scale, notably the Student Innovation and Intellectual Property Competition on the theme “Vietnamese Students and Intellectual Property Culture in the Digital Economy”, held at the University of Law, Hue University, and the National Moot Court Competition held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
At the Conference, delegates focused on discussing and providing comments on the 2025 activity report, while proposing directions for the Network’s activities in 2026 in order to further enhance cooperation among law training institutions, promote scientific research and academic exchange, and develop academic activities for students.
This year, the Vietnam Law School Network admitted two additional members - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the University of Finance - Marketing - bringing the total number of members to 72 and thereby continuing to expand its scale and strengthen connections among law training institutions nationwide.
Concluding with many practical exchanges and concrete directions for cooperation, the 2026 Annual Conference of the Vietnam Law School Network created further momentum for promoting academic linkages and sharing among law training institutions across the country. In doing so, it continued to affirm the Network’s role in improving the quality of legal education and legal research, thereby helping meet the development and integration requirements of Vietnam’s higher education system in the new context.
