On the morning of May 29, 2023, the University of Law, Hue University and the University of Arkon, USA held a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony under the chairmanship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University of Law, Hue University. The solemn event has opened a promising new phase in the cooperation relationship between the two universities.

At the ceremony, on the side of the University of Arkon, USA, there were the attendence of Professor Emily Marie Janoski-Haehlen - Rector of the Law School; Professor Patrick Gaughan and Professor Gary William Spring - Lecturers and law students studying at the University. On the side of Law University, Hue University, there were the attendance of Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Chairman of the School Council as well as the presence of heads/deputy heads of units in the Hue University of Law.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong emphasized: It is a great honor for the University of Law, Hue University to welcome the prestigious educators and scientists from the University of Akron, one of the leading public universities in the United States and the world. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong expressed his admiration for the achievements that Akron University has achieved in the research and education activities, especially in the field of law. At the same time, as the Hue University of Law's leader, he hopes that the two units can take advantage of opportunities to learn from each other in the future.

The University of Akron was founded in 1870, in Akron, Ohio, United States. It is the most influential public research university in the region. The University of Akron is known as one of the leaders in the United States for its cutting-edge approach in higher education. The School of Law, University of Akron was founded in 1921, and is known as the Akron School of Law. The school became part of a network of universities at the University of Akron in 1959 and was fully accredited by the American Bar Association in 1961.

The MOU between the University of Law, Hue University and the University of Akron focuses on exchange and training programs at postgraduate level for lecturers, students and researchers; coordination on organizing scientific conferences/seminars on topics related to Vietnamese and US law.

The MOU signing ceremony between the two institutions will open new opportunities for exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, contributing to improving the quality of education and training, developing science and technology, and strengthening the friendship between the two countries. The MOU is also a convincing demonstration to the continuous development of international cooperation in training and scientific research of the University of Law, Hue University.
