Knowledge enhancement class for international students at University of Law, Hue University
Update day: 20-09-2021Being known as the biggest and most prestigious law training institution in the Western Highlands and Central Vietnam, each year, a large number of international students, especially those coming from Southeast Asian countries have attracted to learning at University of Law, Hue University. In this context, a Support Group has established with the aim of strengthening the solidarity between students from different countries and providing them with intense support in studying and cultural exchange activities. The Group’s members are young, enthusiastic and highly qualified lecturers with high level of proficiency in foreign languages. They are dedicated friends always accompaning with international students on the path of integrating into the new life.
In knowledge enhancement classes, international students are grouped according to their official accademic sessions. The curriculum as well as supplementary activities are tailored separately to fit each session’s level when while ensuring continuity and succession. To be specific: for the the freshmen of current K43-international students, the Group mainly supports them in terms of language and issues related to their daily life. The group provides the second-year international students (K42) with both supplementary legal knowledge and cultural exchange activities. Advanced legal terms and specialized knowledge are the curriculum’s key contents for K41-international students. Finally, the Group focuses on teaching the advanced legal knowledge for the last-year students (K40).
After more than one year of operation, the knowledge enhancement class for international students at Hue University, University of Law has obtained encouraging results. International students now got used to the life in Vietnam and be more convenient in the studying at the university. This is clearly reflected in the significantly improved quality of their final exams. International students gradually become more confident to join common youth activities and movements and more courageous in exchanging and discussing professional topics with Vietnamese students during class hours. Besides, the classes are also a valuable opportunity for young teachers to learn about different foreign legal systems so that they can enrich more valuable materials for their career.
Despite all the early achievements, the International Student Support Group understands that there will still be lots of challenges ahead to overcome and contribute to improving the university's general training quality and reputation with generations of students from different countries.
