FIRST MEETING OF THE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL - UNIVERSITY OF LAW, HUE UNIVERSITY FOR THE 2025 - 2030 TERM
Update day: 25-04-2025On the morning of April 25, 2025, the University of Law, Hue University convened the inaugural session of its University Council for the 2025 - 2030 term. The primary objectives of this first meeting were to consolidate the Council’s organizational structure and to formally elect its Chair. The session was conducted in a serious, democratic, and legally compliant manner.
The meeting was honored by the attendance of senior leaders from Hue University, including: Dr. Bui Van Loi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Hue University; Prof. Dr. Tran Dang Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Hue University Council; Dr. Tran Dang Huy, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Head of the Organization and Personnel Department; M.A. Phan Minh Huan, Deputy Chief of Staff for the Party Committee, University Council, and Mass Organizations; Dr. Nguyen Cong Hao, Head of the Inspectorate and Legal Affairs Department of Hue University, and a representative member of the University Council.
From the University of Law, participants included: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Chairman of the University Council (2020-2025 term); and 14 other official members of the new Council, recognized under Resolution No. 19/NQ-HĐĐH dated April 11, 2025, establishing the University Council for the 2025-2030 term.
This first Council meeting held profound importance as it laid the groundwork for the election of the Council Chair-a leadership role central to the School’s strategic direction and governance under the national higher education autonomy framework. The decisions made at this session reaffirmed the School’s commitment to advancing its goal of becoming a leading institution for legal education and research in Central Vietnam and across the country.
The Council meeting concluded with a high level of consensus and commitment from its members-providing a firm foundation for the implementation of the University’s upcoming development strategies and academic initiatives.
On behalf of the Party Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Luong formally presented the personnel proposal for the position of Chairperson of the University Council for the 2025-2030 term. Following open deliberation, the Council conducted the election process in strict accordance with legal procedures and institutional regulations.
The results of the election reflected a strong vote of confidence: Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, who had served as Council Chair during the 2020-2025 term, was re-elected to continue in the role for the 2025-2030 term with 15/15 votes - a 100% approval rate.
