On the morning of March 31, 2025, the School of Law, Hue University held a conference to elect members to its University Council for the 2025-2030 term.

Overview of the Conference

Representing Hue University at the event were Dr. Đỗ Thị Xuân Dung, Vice President of Hue University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Duân, Secretary of the Hue University Council; Dr. Đỗ Mạnh Hùng, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization and Personnel; and M.A. Phan Minh Huấn, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Party Committee, University Council, and Mass Organizations.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoàn Đức Lương emphasized that during the 2020-2025 term, the University Council strictly adhered to the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Decree No. 99/2019/NĐ-CP, which provides guidelines for its implementation. The council’s resolutions were timely, compliant with current legal frameworks, and responsive to the university’s developmental needs. This contributed significantly to the improved efficiency and effectiveness of the council’s operations and enhanced the overall governance capacity of the University of Law, Hue University.

He expressed his hope that delegates would exercise fairness and discernment in electing outstanding individuals to serve on the University Council for the 2025-2030 term.

At the conference, Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Sơn, Chairman of the University Council for the 2020–2025 term, presented a summary report on the council’s activities over the past five years. During the term, the council carried out two rounds of membership consolidation, both officially recognized by Hue University. Notably, in 2023, two new members were appointed to represent students and faculty.

Following this, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Duy Phương, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Rector, introduced the proposed structure, composition, qualifications, selection criteria, and the list of nominees for the 2025–2030 University Council. These nominations were developed by the university's leadership in coordination with the Party Executive Committee.

According to the plan, the University Council for the 2025-2030 term will comprise 15 members: 10 from within the university (including 3 ex officio members and 7 elected representatives), and 5 from outside the university (including 1 representative from Hue University and 4 elected community members).
