On August 13, 2024, the announcement and award ceremony for the recognition of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) as a member of the Vietnam Legal Training Institution Network (VLSN) was held at 01 Vu Van Nhan Street, Linh Chieu District, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

Representing the University of Law, Hue University, the Chairman of the VLSN, were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoàn Đức Lương, Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Law, Hue University, and Head of the VLSN Executive Board for the 2024 -2026 term; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Duy Phương, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector; Dr. Cao Đình Lành, Head of the Department of Science, Technology, and International Cooperation; Dr. Nguyễn Tài Năng, Head of the Department of Planning and Finance; Dr. Trần Việt Long, Head of the Department of Training; Dr. Nguyễn Sơn Hà, Head of the Department of Examination and Quality Assurance of Education; LLM. Huỳnh Tây, Secretary of the Youth Union; LLM. Trần Cao Thành, Secretary of the Network.

Representing the VLSN Executive Board was Dr. Cao Nhật Linh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, Can Tho University. Representing HCMUTE were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Hiếu Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Acting Rector; Dr. Quách Thanh Hải, Head of the Training Department; Dr. Trần Thanh Thương, Head of the Student Affairs and Admissions Department; MSc. Lê Việt Tiến, Deputy Head of the Communications Department; MSc. Trần Thị Thu Huyền, Deputy Head of the Organization and Administration Department; Dr. Trương Thị Tường Vi, Head of the Law Department, Faculty of Politics and Law; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vũ Đức Trung, Legal Consultant; MSc. Nguyễn Thị Tuyết Nga, Head of the Center for Legal Practice.         

In his welcoming speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Hiếu Giang, Acting Rector of HCMUTE, expressed his delight in hosting the delegation from the VLSN Executive Board. He provided an overview of HCMUTE, highlighting its achievements during 53 years of development. Over this period, the university has trained over 47,500 engineers and vocational lecturers, as well as 1,300 master’s graduates, supplying high-quality human resources to Vietnam’s vocational education system and engineering workforce.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Hiếu Giang emphasized the university's reputation for high graduate employment rates, which results from its exceptional training quality and close collaboration with domestic and international enterprises. Currently, HCMUTE offers 44 undergraduate majors, 16 master’s majors, and 7 doctoral majors, serving over 30,000 students and trainees. Each year, the university admits more than 7,000 undergraduates while attracting over 80,000 applicants, with admission scores ranking among the highest for technical universities. HCMUTE also maintains partnerships with international institutions such as the University of Sunderland and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

On behalf of the VLSN Executive Board, the Network Secretary announced the decision to recognize HCMUTE as a member of the VLSN. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoàn Đức Lương, Head of the VLSN Executive Board, presented the decision and membership certificate to the representatives of HCMUTE, witnessed by staff and lecturers from both institutions.

In his congratulatory speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Duy Phương, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of the University of Law, Hue University, emphasized the Network's mission to foster collaboration among members. He provided an overview of VLSN’s history and development, noting its 66 current members, including 8 newly recognized institutions. HCMUTE is the 62nd member to receive recognition. He encouraged HCMUTE to actively participate in the Network’s 2024 action plan and proposed initiatives such as student exchanges, international seminars, and joint publication projects.

During the event, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive cooperation in training, scientific research, student exchange, and community service.

The ceremony marked an important milestone in the growth of the Vietnam Legal Training Institution Network and the strengthening of collaboration between HCMUTE and the University of Law, Hue University.
