Introduction to Faculty of Administrative Law

The Faculty of Administrative Law, formerly known as the Department of Administrative-State Law, is one of the units established in the early days of the establishment of the Faculty of Law - Hue University (previously the Faculty of Law, University of Sciences, Hue University). On March 3, 2015, with Decision on the establishment of the University of Law under Hue University, the Department of Administrative Law was upgraded into the Faculty of Administrative Law under Decision No. 13/QD-DHL dated April 3, 2015, on the establishment of the Faculty of Public Administration Law under the University of Law, Hue University. The Faculty of Administrative Law is one of the academic faculties of the University of Law, Hue University, with two departments: Department of State - Law Theory and history; Department of Constitutional – Administrative Law

1.    Functions and tasks

As one of the faculties of the University of Law, Hue University, the Faculty of Administrative Law perform the functions and tasks prescribed in Decision No. 949/QD-DHL dated December 28, 2022, of the University of Law, Hue University on promulgating the Regulations on the functions, tasks and coordination of management and administration of units under the University of Law, University of Law. The Faculty of Administrative Law performs the professional management and management of learners under the assigned competence. Some functions are as follows:

-    The Faculty of Administrative Law develops and manages the syllabus; and directly teaches modules in basic legal sciences and public laws at postgraduate degrees and participates in teaching several modules of the graduate programs in Economic Law. Currently, the Faculty has compiled and published 16 textbooks and 06 learning materials, dozens of monographs, and hundreds of articles in specialized domestic and international newspapers and journals.

In the field of scientific research: The research orientation of the Faculty of Administrative Law, University of Law, Hue University focuses on research in basic legal science and public law, which includes 03 developing research groups and main research directions (1) Research group on theory and history of the state and law, human rights law; (2) Research group on Constitutional Law; (3) Research group on Administrative Law. The faculty regularly organizes scientific forums such as conferences, faculty-level, university-level, national-level seminars, and international scientific forums in the field of law.

The Faculty of Administrative Law is responsible for the management of learners. The faculty advice and supports for learners in the learning registration; and enriches the methods and understanding of learning and researching. Every year, experienced lecturers of the faculty guide and support 03 to 04 groups of students to carry out scientific research projects and participate in scientific research competitions at all levels. Many groups of students have achieved high results in scientific research competitions from the university level to the Hue University level and nationwide. The faculty annually organizes scientific seminars, training scientific programs; talk shows, and rhetorical competitions to diversify the scientific activities for learners.

2.    Academic staff

By 2023, the permanent staff of the faculty currently have 16 scholars (including 01 Associate Professor, 05 Doctors, 9 Master; and 01 Bachelor); At the same time, the faculty also invites experts and scientists who are currently working at institutions and state agencies for teaching as regular visiting lecturers. The Faculty of Administrative Law is constantly improving the quality of teaching and research by recruiting highly qualified scientists, and experts to become permanent and visiting lectures lecturers of the faculty. At the same time, the faculty continues to improve the proportion of lecturers with Master's and Doctoral degrees. The Faculty of Administrative Law is creating solid and long-lasting ties with experts and alumni.

The faculty innovates teaching methods to improve student's learning initiative in diverse learning environments, meeting the requirements of learning outcomes. The faculty encourages the students to maximize their full potential to prepare law students for successful careers in the legal profession, government, business, and industry.
